Because being alone also hurts and from ever since we can remember, we’re fed false hope and told that finding someone is just what’s supposed to happen and that when you find ‘that’ person, you don’t feel as shit anymore. ‘If it doesn’t work out, then he wasn’t the one’ and ‘There are plenty of fish in the sea’ are literally excuses for why nothing works out. Everyone believes it and all we want is someone who can make us forget about things, even if they do fuck us over in the end.
